Navi is run by LetsNavi. This policy says what Navi collects about you, why, and who else sees it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
If anything here is unclear, write to team@letsnavi.com and a person will answer you.
What Navi collects
Your account. An email address or a phone number, whichever you sign up with, and a name if you give one. Your password is stored as a hash, which means Navi cannot read it and nobody here can tell you what it is. When you verify an email or a phone number, Navi stores the code it sent until it is used or expires.
What you tell Navi you like. The interests and the price range you set in discovery preferences.
What you do in Navi. Places you save, plans you make, businesses you follow, check-ins, quests, points and rewards.
What you say to the Concierge. Your messages and Navi's replies are stored, so a conversation is still there when you come back to it.
Where you are, in two different ways.
- While you use the map, if you allow location, your device's position is used to show how far away things are and to work out which city you are in. It is not stored.
- When you check in, your position and how accurate it was are stored as part of that check-in. A check-in is a claim that you were somewhere, so the record of where you were is the point of it.
Your camera, only to read a code. If you check in by scanning, Navi opens the camera to read the code. It does not take or keep a picture.
Sessions. When you sign in, Navi records that the session exists and when it expires, so you can be signed out.
Cookies
One cookie is needed for Navi to work at all. It keeps you signed in. It cannot be read by scripts on the page, it is only sent over a secure connection, and it goes away when the session ends. There is no way to turn this one off and still be signed in.
Advertising measurement is optional and off until you say otherwise. The banner on letsnavi.com asks once. If you decline, nothing is set for it, and the site works exactly the same. You can change your mind by clearing cookies for letsnavi.com and answering the banner again.
Who else sees anything
Navi is built on other companies' services, and some of them see something when you use it.
- CARTO serves the map background. Your device asks CARTO for map tiles directly, so CARTO sees your network address and roughly which part of the map you are looking at.
- Google is where a lot of Navi's information about places comes from, and place photographs load from Google's servers. Your device asks Google for those images directly, so Google sees your network address and which place you are looking at.
- Google Gemini writes NAVI’s answers. What you type to NAVI is sent to Google’s Gemini model, together with the listings NAVI is answering from, so it can write the reply. Leave out anything personal.
- openrouteservice draws the route between the stops in a plan. The stops are sent to it to do that.
- Resend sends Navi's emails, so it handles your address to deliver them.
- Vercel serves letsnavi.com and the app, and Railway and Neon run Navi's servers and database.
Navi does not sell your personal information, and the Navi app contains no third party analytics or advertising software. There is no tracking library inside it reporting what you do to anyone.
Navi will hand over information if the law requires it.
What you can do
- Turn location off. Navi asks before using it, and the map still works without it. You lose distances and finding your own city.
- Decline advertising cookies on the banner, or clear cookies to be asked again.
- Change your password in your profile.
- Delete your account. It is in your profile and it asks for your password first, because it cannot be undone.
- Ask us anything about what Navi holds on you, at team@letsnavi.com, including asking for a copy or asking us to delete it.
How long Navi keeps things
While your account exists. Deleting your account removes it. Verification codes are short lived and sessions expire on their own.
Children
Navi is for people aged 18 and over. Navi is not for children and does not knowingly collect anything about them. If you think a child has an account, write to team@letsnavi.com and it will be removed.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it. If a change matters, people with accounts will be told rather than left to notice.
